Neil Hougham is a professional aviation consultant and a leading authority on air cargo issues, logistics and supply chain management, thanks to his extensive international experience and detailed market knowledge within the sector.

Neil's career began at British Airways where he soon became a specialist in cargo issues. After holding various administration posts, he was appointed Cargo Sales Manager, Southern England , and then Regional Cargo Manager Central & Southern Africa with market responsibility for an area covering ten countries and nine on-line stations.

Neil left British Airways to become UK Director of Concord Freight System and then moved to F X Coughlin as European Operations Manager. Concord was a specialist in the Sea-air market, bringing in large volumes of freight from Asia and the Far East . F X Coughlin specialised in the movement of automotive parts, mainly for the Ford Motor Co.

Since 1995, Neil has worked as an independent consultant, carrying out strategic development, forecasting, and economic air transport assignments. These have included cargo forecasts for a number of major airports in the UK , Middle East and Africa and a strategic study for Jeddah Airport . He has also performed cargo audits and strategic analyses for several airlines including larger airlines with strong cargo focus such as EVA and Etihad Airways, as well as examining the cargo potential for essentially passenger carriers such as Jersey European (now FlyBE).

Neil has also worked with the European Commission and contributed to the South East and East of England Regional Air Service Study (SERAS).
